ABout the maine association of health plans
The Maine Association of Health Plans includes five health plans providing or administering health insurance coverage to more than 600,000 Mainers. Our mission as an association is to improve the health of Maine people by promoting affordable, safe, and coordinated health care.
Affordable
Maine’s health plans deliver value for patients by establishing networks of highly-qualified providers, negotiating fair rates for treatments and services, through member health initiatives, and by working together to advocate for sensible policies.
Safe
Maine’s health plans leverage data, research, medical expertise, and prior-year experience and actuarial science to help direct members to proven, evidence-based care.
Coordinated
Our modern healthcare system is incredibly complex. Maine’s health plans help members achieve better outcomes by combining a global view of the health care landscape with individual insights that help patients receive the right care in the right setting.
